Transit+ is Transit's multimodal trip planner. It's designed to show you optimal transport options by combining public transport with other modes. Transit+ combines buses, rail and ferries with bikeshare, scooters, personal bikes, and ridehail services.
Here's what this article covers:
Plan a multimodal trip
Transit+ is an enhancement to the regular Transit trip planner. To see trip plans with multiple modes recommended, plan your trip as you would normally using the trip planner.
Transit+ suggests trips that combine ridehail, bikeshare, scooters, or personal bikes with bus, ferry, or rail (such as subway, commuter rail, or tram). In certain cities, Transit+ will suggest trips that combine on-demand services and a bus.
You'll see Transit+ trips suggested below public transport options in the trip planner results when our trip planner believes a multimodal option can save you time on your journey.
Note: GO is not available for multimodal trips in Transit.
Unlock a bikeshare bike
Once you have selected your trip, tap "Unlock a bike" and follow the instructions from the trip details screen.
You can read more about our bikeshare integration here: Unlock a bikeshare bike
Request a ride
Once you have selected your trip, tap "Request" to order your ride directly from the trip details screen.
Note: Your ride is only ordered once you tap the "Request" button and confirm your pickup location.
If ridehail is the last leg of your journey, we suggest ordering your ride a few minutes before arriving at the transfer point, or once you exit public transport. If you order too early, you may be charged while the driver waits to pick you up.
You can read more about our ridehail integrations here: Order ridehail services
