Book on-demand transit online (MN only)

Riders in Minnesota who use Otter Express, ZIPS Paratransit, or Rolling Hills Transit and have an app version of 5.13.0 or higher can now book a ride online instead of calling to reserve one.

You have two ways to book an on-demand service.

First of all, you can look for an on-demand service in the main screen list and tap "Request ride".

You’ll be redirect to the trip details screen, where you’ll be able to select your destination and request your ride by tapping on "Book online". This will open the online booking portal.

Otherwise, you can plan a trip as you usually would. If your trip is eligible for on-demand, you will see it in your trip results. Tap on the trip you want to take to bring you to the trip details screen.

Then, all you have to do is tap "Book online" to open the online booking portal.

If you’ve already have an account, you can sign in. Otherwise, if it's your first time using it, you'll need to create an account and fill out some basic personal details.

Once your account is created, you'll be able to confirm your "Depart At" or "Arrive By" time as well as your pick-up and drop-off locations.

When you submit the trip request, its status will appear as "Pending" until reviewed and accepted by your transit agency, and will then change to "Booking accepted". Once your agency has confirmed there is a vehicle and driver that can fulfill your trip request, your trip status will change to "Booking scheduled", and you'll now see a pickup time in the trip's details.

Should you need to cancel a ride, just select it from your list of upcoming trips, and tap the "Cancel Trip" button at the bottom left.

Please note that your bookings will not appear in Transit. If you'd like to view or cancel your existing bookings, tap the gear icon at the top left of the main screen.

Scroll down to  "Getting around" and tap "Public transit".

Select your on-demand service, then tap "Manage bookings". You’ll be redirect to the online booking portal, where you can find your upcoming trips of all services.
