Use Transit on Apple Watch

Having Transit on your Apple Watch allows you to quickly see schedules for nearby routes and find out where your stop is - no need to take out your phone!

Add Transit to your Apple Watch

In order to use Transit on your Apple Watch, you'll need to have watchOS 6.1.

If Automatic App Install is disabled on your iPhone, open the Watch app and scroll down to find Transit under Available Apps. Tap Install.

You can also download Transit directly from your Apple Watch in the App Store.

See Nearby Routes

On the main screen, you'll find a list of nearby transit routes and their next departure time. If one of your pinned lines is nearby, it'll appear at the top.

To see info for the route's other direction, tap on the double-arrow button at the top right:

Scroll up/down to view departure times for other nearby routes:

See Next Departures

Tap on any route to see the next 3 departures at the nearest stop.

Get Directions to your Stop

Wondering where exactly your stop is? After tapping on a route, scroll down to find a map of your surroundings.

The blue dot shows your location and the pin shows you where your bus stop is. Head towards there!

Pin Your Most Used Lines

To pin a line at the top of the list, tap the button below the line on the map that says "📌 Pin this line."

To un-pin a line, do the same thing, except to un-pin! 

When your line is pinned, you will see a small 📌 at the top:

Your Watch pinned lines are synced to your iPhone. Any changes made on either your iPhone or Watch will be reflected on the other device.

Add the Transit complication to your Apple Watch

With the Transit complication on your watch face, you can launch Transit with just a tap!

Here's how to add it:

  1. Press firmly on the watch face.
  2. Swipe through and select a watch face
  3. Tap Customize.
  4. Swipe to the left until you reach the last customization menu.
  5. Tap a complication icon.
  6. Rotate the Digital Crown to scroll until you find the Transit logo.
  7. Press the Digital Crown to exit customization.
  8. Tap the watch face when done.
